ABOUT US

The Lenny Trusler Children's Foundation (LTCF) is dedicated to helping provide the relief of serious illness in newborn babies and infants, both in the UK and abroad.

The foundation was created by violinists Matthew Trusler and Maya Koch after the death of their baby son from a rare kidney disease in April 2007. Just one month after its official launch in May 2008 it was chosen as Charity of the Year 2008/2009 by Reef Television. The award included a £10.000 donation towards the LTCF's first mission, a family room for the neonatal unit of the Whittington Hospital London, as well as the making of a short film about the foundation's activities.

The LTCF will raise money primarily through musical projects and will work closely with independent classical music record label Orchid Classics.

LAST MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Our latest mission to raise money for an incubator for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Whittington Hospital in London was accomplished in 2011. The Giraffe Omnibed incubator provides uncompromised access, making medical procedures easier to perform. At the touch of a button, the Omnibed can be converted from an incubator to a radiant warmer. The versatility of this bed allows a baby to remain in it throughout their NICU stay. This eliminates stress and trauma that may be incurred when a baby is moved from bed to bed. For all of these reasons, the Omnibed is a tremendous asset that will improve the quality of care that can be provided by the Whittington Hospital.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

We are very pleased to have completed our first two missions. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Whittington Hospital in London, where Lenny was born, now has a new Family Room, donated by the LTCF, as well as a new SiPAP machine which provides babies with non-invasive ventilatory support.
